Blistering pagan incantations sent to shatter your soul. Personally, when I listen to black metal there's often an element lacking the grit, or inspired touch, needed to envelope you in the atmosphere imparted by the song title or album asthetic, making it hard to accentuate your own mood or surroundings and get truly lost: not here though. The vocals punctuate the lyrics with intent, the guitars weave sharp crystallised ambience and the drums kick you hard in the ribcage. Pure & simply elite.

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended.
